Barb,

I had to send you a picture of my two beautiful dogs, they "turn heads" wherever we go. They have become best "buddies" and fill my life with lots love and happiness. Having two goldens is a dream come true and I would highly recommend it.

Hi Barb,

I visit your site often and see the love of Goldens in each picture and testimonials from all who have your Goldens. Baxter was from Brandy's and Banners 13 puppies that needed to be bottle fed. He was born in Jan 2002 and is the love of my life. He is such a sweet boy and we all love him to death. I married again after 24 years and Baxter has adopted John as his dad. It must be the male bonding thing. He is also the brother to Golden rescue from RAGOM Miss Holly Dolly who was a mama for 8 years before we adopted her. She is a little petite thing that thinks Baxter hung the moon. He is such a good boy and is always so polite with her. I want to thank you and your family for providing Goldens that are bred in very humane conditions and loved from the day they are born. I appreciate the process you go through to ensure all have a good home. You are truly angels on earth and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Hugs and kisses for all your Goldens and you!

BELLE

Hello Barb,
I just wanted to share with you these pictures of Belle (from Ivy & Banner's litter born 12/17/06) with our baby Natalie (7 months old). It is unbelievable how sweet and gentle she is with Natalie.We are trying to teach Natalie how to "pet the puppy gently" even though Belle doesn't ever mind when Natalie grabs a fist full of fur and starts pulling with all of her might! The poor dog! She is so tolerant however and actually seems to love the attention from the baby and normally responds with a kiss :) Her temperament is so great!

ROOKIE

Hi Barb-
I just want to give you an update on Rookie. I don't think I have ever sent you a photo of him. I have attached a couple for you to look at. He was Lily and Banner's born in June of 2003. I don't think that anyone could ask for a better companion. I am training with him to be a therapy dog. I know it will be very rewarding for the both of us. Rookie has added so much to my life and also to the people around me.

REMEMBERING BANNER

I have not posted anything on the blog for a while as I just needed to take a little break after the two litters we had, and losing Banner. I can't tell you how much it has meant to me to receive so many kind emails regarding Banner's passing. This is a photo of Zoey, our daughter and son in law's puppy. She is from Banner's last litter. It has helped so much to hear how his babies have blessed so many people! This is a response from one of our clients, and I thought it was so sweet, just wanted to share it.

We are so sorry to hear about your loss of Banner. Jack and I first read about it just after Christmas. As a memory to him we have changed Brooklyn's middle name from Beyonce to Banner, so she is now known as Brooklyn Banner. She is doing well and is such a good and loving dog. She may come and visit you this Spring for some training after she is spayed.

The other thing that Jack did in memory of Banner was that during one of his traveling basketball games he played in memory of Banner. It was really cute, when the opposing team was bringing the ball down court and he was on defense he actually yelled out "Woof Woof."

Again we are so sorry for your loss.

A SAD DAY AT ROLLING OAKS

We are so sad at Rolling Oaks. Our stud dog Banner had a massive stroke, and had to be put down. This is Banner when he was four years old. Banner was the best dog! He produced so many healthy, happy, beautiful puppies. His stroke was not ordinary, or hereditary. A fluky thing that can happen. We are heart broken to lose such a wonderful dog.

Banner had his last litters this summer, and we had retired him from breeding. It helps to know that he did not suffer, and all he knew his entire life was love. He lived a perfect life...romping in the woods, running with the other dogs and being the very best daddy! He had a great job here at Rolling Oaks! When I knew it was time for him to go, I held him in my arms, and looked him in the eye, and he seemed to say "It's okay, I know I have to go.." He never stopped wagging his tail. There will never be another Banner. He is named after his great grandfather who was the main stud dog for Kansas City Service Dogs.

There is a park in Kansas City named Banner Park after our Banners great grandfather. I feel so privileged to have owned Banner, and been able to love him all his life, and share his gorgeous puppies with so many. My heart aches to let him go. With all the happiness of Christmas, I can't stop the tears today. My beloved Banner is gone. He will live on through his daughters here at Rolling Oaks. And for that I am forever grateful because he was so awesome. He had all the characteristics of a true golden. Always happy, wanting to please, calm yet would spunk up for play. Beautiful in every way. He will be missed.
