Hi Barb,

Hope all is well!

I thought you would probably get a chuckle out of this. I would imagine you have heard of this before. I took Bear to the dog park in Plymouth last Saturday with my friend Lisa. We got such a kick out of watching Bear. He would much rather check out the people than the dogs. He went from person to person hoping to get attention. His approach is quite interesting. He walks right up to them and then sits on their feet and leans into them a little. It certainly gets their attention and it is a little difficult for them to get away because of where he is sitting! His people oriented behavior was very noticeable. It was so different than the other dogs! The other dogs were mainly checking out dogs. Bear checked out EVERY person along with a few dogs (usually because the dogs approached him). It was fun to watch Bear. It was also fun to watch the reactions of the people. Lisa suggested it is a dog park for regular dogs but it is a "people park" for Bear.

I think all the work you and your family put into each pup definitely shows. Bear's behavior is noticeably different than the other dogs. He also gets LOTS of compliments on his good looks! He is also very smart and wants very much to please. He is a GREAT pup at 2 1/2 years old!

Keep up the good work!

TUCKER UPDATE

Barb,

I wanted to get you this gorgeous picture of Tucker taken during our July vacation to the lake when he was 7 months old.. He is a natural swimmer and had no hesitation taking off into the lake to retrieve - which he would do all day long if I let him. As you can see he is very handsome, he turns heads wherever we go. I couldn't be more happy with his personality and companionship. Once again you have provided me an outstanding friend.

My pet sitter says he is an old soul in a puppy body - he loves all creatures big and small. He adores my neighbors' girls - actually shows off for them if they don't notice him right away. He has very beautiful eyes - full of expression and he is curious about everything - always watching and thinking.

He is now 10 months old and weighs 75 lb.

Take care - I hope all is well with you and your family. Thank again,
Roxanne

TASHI UPDATE

Barb-

I just wanted to give you a quick update after Tashi first birthday. It's really amazing to think it was this time last year that Jewel and Captain had this beautiful litter of pups in August and we were just about to pick up this little bundle of fur. I'm working on trying to talk Harry in getting another dog which would have been impossible in years past, but because she is such a wonderful dog I'm actually getting through a bit. very time someone comments on what a beautiful dog she is that gives me the opportunity to tell them about you, your family, the breeding program you have and the loving environment it is. We really feel honored to have such a great dog and we count our blessings every day.

I've enclosed a couple of pictures of Tashi enjoying a fall day at the cabin. She love riding on the pontoon and thinking she can catch a seagull, loon or eagle as they fly by. She also loves the woods and the lake which allows her to burn off all that pent up puppy energy. She definitely enjoys our cabin as much as we do.
Thanks again for all you do.

Regards,

Dar

JEWEL HAD HER PUPPIES!!!

Jewel gave birth to 11 puppies on October 3! This litter is spoken for. If you are inquiring about a golden, the next litter will be born around November 10 and ready for their new homes around December 29! Ruby/Captain are the parents. In the mean time, I will posting photos of Jewel/Captains litter so you can watch them grow!
BACK FROM COLORADO

Russ and Daniel are finally home from their Elk hunting trip to Colorado. They were gone for 10 days, which seemed like eternity to me. They had a wonderful time, but did not come home with any Elk meat. On the last day they decided to put on war paint, as you can see in this photo. While they were gone I felt like I was trying to live without my right arm. I could do it, but I hated it. I can't imagine living without Russ. He is my true soul mate. We have been married for almost 30 years. It has not always been easy, and we have made some mistakes, but I have never felt closer to anyone than I do to him. He is the one I want to share my deepest secrets with. Though we have lived through some tragedies, there are far more triumphs. We have learned to be 100% honest 100% of the time. Transparent with one another. I think all of us long for a peace in our heart. A place where we are content, not longing or wanting for anything. I am at that place. I am so thankful for Russ, and the man he has become. When we got married, we were both very young, and had a lot of selfishness and immaturity. It amazes me to look back and see all that we have gone through, and how God truly has had His hand on our lives. We feel so fortunate to have been able to raise our six children, to the best of our ability, in a loving home. Now we have a business where we can bless others with a sweet Golden Retriever. Sometimes when I am laying down in the midst of 10 or 12 puppies, and they are all so happy and loving, I think I am the luckiest person on earth. I have everything I ever dreamed of. A husband who completes me, makes me a better person...loves me through the good and bad, six wonderful children, two perfect sons-in-law, two healthy, beautiful grandsons, and a farm that still makes my heart skip a beat as I drive up the drive-way, knowing this is where I live. It is the perfect place to raise a family and the sweetest dogs on earth. Today, I feel like it couldn't get any better. It is truly a good life.

DAKOTA

Hi Barb,
Here are a few pictures of Dakota from the last couple of weeks. She continues to be an easy puppy. We are keeping up with the socialization work you started by taking her to the kids soccer games and lots of other new places. She loves to play, loves people, but overall is a calm puppy. We think you did a great job picking her out for us!
