SOME RECENT CLIENT COMMENTS
Following are reports from clients who hunt with their dogs:

We are so happy with our 15 month-old female Golden named Sport. She
has been an excellent hunter and has found 20 out of 20 chuckars in field training. When we knock them down, she retrieves them to 'hand.' We especially appreciate how you personally selected this particular puppy for us based on our family profile and hobbies (we have smaller children so needed a great family dog first, as well as a bird dog for my husband's interest in hunting sports.) Thank you again and please let us know we'd be happy to recommend your puppies to anyone.

With Sentiments of Esteem, Brad and Sue

Lori and I just wanted to drop you a line to say that Nellie is wonderful and what ever you guys do there at Rolling Oaks keep it up. We have had Lori's 10 month old Nephew at our house the last week and Nellie is amazing with him even at such a young age and no experience with small children at all. I also have to say that she was born to bird hunt, I have been playing with her on real pheasant wings and pigeon as well and she is so crazy for birds I can't even explain. Anyway I had started gun training a few weeks ago with the cap gun, starter pistol, any other loud noises while she is eating, playing with bird wings etc.. Well I was very happy because she has never even given any of it a second thought, no cowering or any thing. So I got a bit bold for a almost 15 week old puppy but she went on her first Pheasant Hunt last weekend. I started off on the training field and got her really birdie on live pigeons with no gun shots. Then my neighbor and I who has a yellow lab took the two into the hunting fields. Well lets just say our jaws (along with the guide that was with us) jaws hut the ground. Once the experienced lab got her and us on the birds, it was awesome to see her natural instinct. She actually put up two birds on her own, and was so excited she did not even flinch at the sound of two 12 gauges going off. Just thought I would share my story and joy and thanks for a wonderful dog. Take care and thanks again Peter and Lori
AMY LOVES HER BROTHER
Daniel's girlfriend Erika came over. Amy might be a little possessive of her brother, as she decided he needed a kiss from her while holding puppies.

NEXT LITTER AVAILABLE IN DECEMBER

If you are submitting a puppy aplpication now, the next available litter will be born around November, and ready to go to their new homes in December or January. The parents are Ivy League of Rolling Oaks and Glorybee Banner of Rolling Oaks.

We spend a tremendous amount of time with each puppy individually, from the day they are born until they are 7 weeks old. Puppies are introduced to a crate for potty training, taken on at least 6 car rides to nursing homes, schools, day care, etc. We do temperament tests to determine the puppy’s personality, and at 7 weeks match puppy to owner.

All of our breeding dogs have their hips, elbow, eye and heart certified. We are breeding for the standard golden. Average adult weight for females is 65 lbs., males 75lbs.

If you are interested in obtaining a Rolling Oaks Golden, please fill out the puppy application and return it. We will call you for an extensive phone interview within two weeks. If we feel comfortable placing a puppy in your home, and you feel comfortable with us as breeders, you would send a deposit of $300.00, which guarantees you the next available puppy. We sell our companion puppies for $1500.00 for male or female. Our puppies are sold with a health guarantee, and spay/neuter contract. Deposit is non-refundable and should only be sent after the phone interview. Once your litter is born, we will post a photo on the blog each week of the so you can watch the puppies grow and develop. At 5 weeks you come out for a visit, and meet the parents & we discuss the personality & characteristics of the puppy you are hoping for. Then at 7 weeks you come back and pick your puppy up!

RUBY'S PUPPIES
Ruby's puppies will open their eyes in a few days!
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Today was the first day of school. I am always sad when this day comes, as it means an end to our days together on the farm. It has been a busy summer, but we made time to sit by the camp fire, swim in the pool, play bad mitten, ride horse, and above all, hold puppies! Our youngest daughter Amy has down syndrome, and typically rides a smaller bus that comes right to the door to pick her up and drop her off. We continue to strive for a normal life and routine for Amy, so this year she is riding the big bus. Our drive way is 1/2 mile long, so I usually run the dogs with the four wheeler to meet the bus in the morning. It was emotional for me to watch Amy and Anna get on the bus. I felt like it was a big step for her. Anna made a comment to me regarding what the other kids will think of Amy, and I said they will think she is different, but once they get to know her, they will love her! As a society, we tend to judge people before we really know them. Knowing Amy as well as we do, we know what a joy she is, and what a sweet personality she has. If someone does not get to know her simply because she is different, they are missing some of the most wonderful things life has to offer! I am not sure why today felt like a milestone in Amy's life, but it made me laugh and cry at the same time as I let her go. Maybe that is it, she is not as protected, more vulnerable. But as parents we have to let them go, and experience life, a little bit at a time. Today was just the beginning of letting Amy go, and it is a good thing.

PAINT BALL PARTY
Daniel had a paint ball party on Monday and everyone spent time cuddling with both litters. Ruby's puppies have a dark ribbon around their necks, Jewel's have a light color ribbon.
